Many look to Practical Magic, the classic 1990s film, as the catalyst for exploring their own witchy interests. We saw ourselves in it, and a dormant part of us was forever sparked into life.
 
We may have been inspired by Sally and Gillian Owens and their eccentric aunts to explore divination, love spells and healing charms, green witchery, cottage witchery and kitchen witchery, spirit summoning, coven and communal practices, hereditary witchcraft and more. We saw how hexes and curses lingered in the roses in the garden,  and how gray magic exists in us all. The film may have been popular, but to us witches, it's a great example of actual witchcraft at work.
 
In this class, we use the film as inspiration for our magick, exploring the topics above through the lens of the film and of the witchcraft pathways it explores (cottage, kitchen, green, divinatory, contemporary and eclectic, ancestral). We practice the same spells and create rituals inspired by the ones we see. We take a little bit of each character with us and use their character correspondences in our work. It's a way to infuse our magic with our inspiration, and what better place to start than with this classic?
 
This eight-session course includes downloaded and printable materials that include  spells and rituals, lore and history where applicable, references and connections to the film, charms and tips. It also discussion prompts via the Coven Community to facilitate more learning and communal connection.
